The debut art installment from 101 Art Studio has successfully highlighted the extraordinary talent of youth artists, setting a high standard for creativity and expression. This event, titled "Artistic Horizons: Youth Voices In Color," not only showcased artistic talent but also emphasized art as a powerful means of personal growth and healing. The dedication to offering platforms for showcasing talent and fostering creativity spans across all age groups, from children to adults, underlining the belief in the transformative power of art.

This initiative was made possible through the invaluable partnership with MassHire, to whom a heartfelt thank you is extended for the opportunity to bring "Artistic Horizons" to light. A Night of Remarkable Women: Quincy’s Historical Society Celebrates Female Pioneers

In celebration of Women's History Month, the Quincy Historical Society will present a special program on Thursday, March 21st, at 7 pm, hosted at the Adams Academy. Curator Alexandra Elliott will lead the event, revisiting a 2021 initiative that delved into the lives of significant women from Quincy's history, with a focus on bringing to light the contributions of figures beyond the well-known Abigail Adams. While Abigail Adams's correspondence has served as a pivotal resource for understanding the perspectives of women during the American Revolution, this event aims to broaden the narrative by highlighting other influential Quincy women like Anne Hutchinson, Ruth Gordon, and Mary Pratt. Additionally, Elliott will introduce lesser-known but equally notable women such as Molly Dewson and Celestine Dorch, whose stories have recently gained attention or remained underappreciated.

The program will not only celebrate these women's achievements but also provide insights into the Quincy Historical Society's ongoing research efforts into women's history. With plans to honor these remarkable women during Quincy's 400th anniversary celebrations, the event underscores the society's commitment to recognizing the diverse contributions of women to the city's rich history. Open to the public and free of charge, this educational evening promises to be an enlightening exploration of the women who have shaped Quincy's past.
