Quincy's Own DJ and Adam to Perform New Hit at Fox and Hound

DJ and Adam, an emerging musical duo, are thrilled to announce the release of their debut track, "Sailing," now available across all streaming platforms. This milestone marks a significant moment in their careers, showcasing their dedication and passion for music. To celebrate this achievement, they're inviting fans and music lovers to join them for a special live performance. The event is scheduled for March 22nd at The Fox and Hound restaurant in Quincy, where they will be performing from 8 to 11 pm, promising an evening filled with great music and lively entertainment.

Granite City Electric Lights Up Habitat for Humanity Projects Across Massachusetts

Granite City Electric, a key player in the electrical supply industry, recently made a significant contribution to the housing sector in Massachusetts. The company partnered with South Shore Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization committed to providing quality housing solutions for families in need. Granite City Electric donated essential electrical supplies to support the construction of a new home in Cohasset. This act of generosity is part of the Granite City Electric Partnership program, which extends support to four additional Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Massachusetts: Habitat for Humanity Metro West Greater Worcester, Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity North Central MA, and Habitat for Humanity Nantucket.

Quincy Man Sentenced for Involvement in Violent Boston Gang Activity

In Boston Federal Court, a Quincy resident named Michael Nguyen, 23, known by the alias "Asian," has been handed a sentence for his involvement with the Cameron Street gang, recognized for its violent activities. U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young sentenced Nguyen to 70 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release after Nguyen pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to engage in a racketeering enterprise, known as RICO conspiracy, and conspiracy to obstruct commerce through threats or violence. This marks the first sentencing in this particular case.

Nguyen was a confirmed member of the Cameron Street gang, primarily operating in Boston's Dorchester area. The gang is notorious for utilizing violence, including murder and attempted murder, to safeguard and expand its territory. Court documents reveal that the gang leverages social media to boast about its violent endeavors, insult rival gangs, and even promote its illegal activities, which range from firearm possession to human trafficking, aimed at generating income.

Specifically, Nguyen played a strategic role within the gang, often venturing into territories of rival gangs for surveillance purposes. A notable incident in July 2018 saw Nguyen and two other gang members, Brendon Amado and Deronde Bethea, invading a home, assaulting the inhabitants, and fleeing with significant amounts of cash and valuables. The perpetrators were later identified through various means, including phone records, a left-behind shoe, and surveillance footage from a convenience store.

Amado and Bethea, also implicated in the crime, have pleaded guilty and are awaiting their sentencing, scheduled for May 29, 2024, and May 16, 2024, respectively.
