Tiranga Indian Street Food is excited to announce Quincy's first-ever celebration of the spring festival Holi. The event will take place on May 5th, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Cavanagh Stadium, located at 22 Birch St, Quincy.

Holi is a vibrant and joyous festival that marks the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. It is celebrated by people of all ages, who come together to play with colors, dance, and enjoy delicious food. This event promises to be a colorful and fun-filled experience for the entire family.

Tiranga Indian Street Food will be offering a variety of largely vegetarian (no egg) dishes for attendees to purchase, including favorites such as Samosa, Bombay Sandwich, Veg Puff, Jalebi, Mango lassi, and Hot Elaichi Chai.

Guests are encouraged to wear white clothing to fully embrace the spirit of the festival, as they will be soaked in vibrant colors throughout the celebration. The event is free to attend and open to all ages, making it a perfect opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy the festivities.

Parking for the event will be available at the NQHS Parking Lot, Atlantic Parking Lot, and on the street. To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience, attendees are advised to protect their car seats with old sheets or towels, moisturize their hair and skin, wear worn, comfortable clothes, and be respectful and mindful of others' comfort while playing with colors.

Don't miss this chance to immerse yourself in the colors, music, dance, and delectable Indian cuisine of Holi at Quincy's first-ever celebration of this beloved spring festival.

Craft Your Own Groovy Van Candle with Aroma Sparks at Break Rock Brewing

Break Rock Brewing is hosting a unique and exciting event on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The "Groovy Candle Making Night" with Aroma Sparks invites participants to embrace their inner flower child and return in time while crafting their groovy van candle.

The event, priced at $65.00, includes a drink ticket, groovy accessories, games, and all the necessary materials to create a personalized candle. Attendees will have the opportunity to choose their preferred Concrete VW Bus Color and select an aroma from the provided fragrance selection. They will decorate their bus with retro stickers before wicking and pouring the candle.

Throughout the evening, participants will be guided through the candle-making process, which takes approximately 40-45 minutes. Each candle has a 6 oz net wax weight, and attendees can take their creation home with instructions on handling it. The candles require a few hours to cool completely.

While drinks will be available for purchase, attendees are encouraged to bring their own food (BYOF) to enjoy during the event. The Marina area offers many great dining options for those looking to grab a bite before or after the candle-making experience.

Break Rock Brewing is located at 534 Victory Rd, Quincy, MA, making it a fun spot for a night of crafting and creativity with friends.

Quincy Employment Agency Owner Faces Prison Time for $3.2M Payroll Tax Fraud.

Lilian Giang, a 56-year-old businesswoman from Randolph, Massachusetts, was found guilty by a federal jury in Boston on April 10, 2024, for her role in a payroll tax avoidance scheme. Following a three-day trial, Giang was convicted on four counts of failing to collect and pay over taxes and one count of mail fraud. Her sentencing is scheduled for July 2024 before U.S. District Court Judge Richard G. Stearns.

Between 2015 and 2019, Giang owned and operated Able Temp Agency, a temporary employment agency based in Quincy that provided workers to client companies in Massachusetts. Investigations revealed that Giang concealed over $3.2 million in payroll by paying temporary employees through a combination of checks and cash, allowing her to evade more than $800,000 in required payroll taxes. Additionally, Giang provided false payroll numbers to secure worker's compensation insurance at lower premium rates.

The mail fraud charge carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison, while the failure to collect or pay over taxes could result in a sentence of up to five years. Giang may also face supervised release, substantial fines, restitution, and forfeiture.
