Gennaro's Eatery Announces Major Changes
Big changes are coming to Gennaro's Eatery starting June 26th! Founded by Gerry, Gennaro's Eatery began with a profound love for Italian cooking inspired by Gerry’s father, Gennaro. With formal culinary training and extensive experience across hotels, catering firms, and restaurants, Gerry established Gennaro’s Eatery as a beloved destination for authentic home-style Italian cuisine at affordable prices.
Now, Gerry will pass the torch to his son, Anthony, who has been an integral part of the restaurant for many years. While Gerry will still be involved, he will take a small step back. With this transition, the restaurant will be rebranded as Gennaro & Son Italian Bistro and will feature a new menu debuting on June 26th.
The new menu will continue to offer beloved classics, such as the famous tortellini carbonara and chicken Gennaro, alongside modern Italian dishes developed by Anthony. The current operating hours will remain unchanged: Tuesday through Thursday from 3 PM to 8:30 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 AM to 9 PM. Additionally, there are plans to open for lunch starting in September.
Dorothy Quincy Homestead Independence Celebration on June 29, 2024
The Dorothy Quincy Homestead is set to celebrate Independence Day on June 29 at 34 Butler Road. The event will feature a special reading of the Declaration of Independence by Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch at 10:30 AM. Adding to the festive spirit, the National Parks Service has donated Red Coats for children to practice marching alongside a drummer and fifer to the tunes of Revolutionary War music. In honor of the holiday, free ice cream will be served to attendees.
Guided tours of the historic Homestead will be available every 30 minutes, starting on the hour and half-hour. The tours will commence at 11 AM, with the last tour beginning at 1:30 PM. The tour costs $10.00 per person, and donations are welcome.
The Quincy Homestead is owned by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation in partnership with the National Society of Colonial Dames of Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Quincy Art Council co-sponsor the Independence Day program.
