The 37th Annual Quincy August Moon Festival is set to bring joy and celebration to the community this Sunday, August 18th, 2024. Hosted by QARI in partnership with the City of Quincy, this beloved event has been a cherished tradition since 1987. Recognized as Quincy's signature August event and awarded 'Best Street Festival' by Boston Magazine in 2018, the festival promises a day full of vibrant activities.

Don't Miss "Ride the Cyclone" This Weekend!
The much-anticipated high school production of "Ride the Cyclone: High School Edition" kicks off this Friday, August 16, 2024, at Quincy South West Middle School. This unique musical, known for its humor and heart, will be performed by three different casts throughout the weekend, offering six showings in total.
In "Ride the Cyclone," the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir take a dark turn when they perish in a roller coaster accident. The story unfolds in a limbo where a mechanical fortune teller gives each teen a chance to share their story for the ultimate prize—a return to life. This show is both funny and moving, exploring what it truly means to live a fulfilling life.
The first performance, featuring the Barnum Cast, will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, with a follow-up performance at 7:00 PM by the Ringling Cast. The Soleil Cast will perform on Saturday at 2:00 PM, with the Barnum Cast returning for a 7:00 PM showing that evening. Sunday will see the Ringling Cast take the stage at 2:00 PM, followed by the Soleil Cast at 7:00 PM.
Tickets are available now at Melomusical.org, and doors will open 30 minutes before each show.

Quincy Celebrates the 80s & 90s with Music and Fun on August 17th!
The City of Quincy is set to host a lively celebration of music from the 1980s and 1990s on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hancock-Adams Common. This event promises a day filled with nostalgic tunes, live performances, and fun activities for all ages.
The festivities will kick off at 3:00 PM with Cover Story Entertainment, bringing the best of 1980s music to the stage and keeping guests dancing from the start. At 5:00 PM, the Center Stage Performing Arts Studio will present a special performance, followed by the Beacon Street Band at 5:30 PM. The band, back by popular demand after a standout performance at last year's Food Truck and Musicfest, will play the most iconic songs from the 1990s, sure to have the crowd singing along.
The highlight of the evening will be at 7:00 PM when Michelle Brooks-Thompson takes the stage for a tribute to Whitney Houston. Known for her powerful voice and striking resemblance to the legendary singer, Michelle’s performance is one you won’t want to miss.
In addition to the music, the event will feature classic cars from the 80s and 90s, models dressed in vintage clothing from those decades, and entertaining stilt walkers and jugglers to add to the festive atmosphere.
This event is a great way to spend a summer evening enjoying music, entertainment, and a trip down memory lane.
