Spring Forward: Daylight Saving Time Begins March 10, 2024

Mark your calendars! Daylight Saving Time is set to begin on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 2:00 A.M. As part of the annual tradition to "spring forward," clocks will be adjusted forward by one hour on the preceding Saturday night. This adjustment means that one hour of sleep will be lost, but in exchange, everyone can enjoy longer evenings with more daylight. This change signals the end of winter's grip, ushering in the brighter and warmer days of spring. It's a time to reset not just our clocks, but also our mindsets, preparing for the renewed energy and activities that the coming months will bring.

Donate Your Gently Worn Prom Dresses to Support QHS & NQHS Students

In a beautiful display of community support and kindness, two remarkable local businesswomen, Caryn of Caryn’s Corner and Jenn of Coffee Break Café, are once again spearheading a heartwarming initiative to collect gently worn prom dresses for students at Quincy High School (QHS) and North Quincy High School (NQHS). This charitable endeavor, in collaboration with a local flower shop, not only aims to provide prom dresses but also assists with flowers, tuxedo rentals, and tickets for those in need. Last year, their efforts made prom night unforgettable for over 70 students, showcasing the incredible impact of community solidarity.

For those looking to contribute, gently used prom dresses can be donated at Caryn’s Corner, located at 133 Beach Street, from Wednesday to Saturday between 10 am and 5 pm. Additionally, Jenn and Caryn are offering to personally arrange pick-up for donations, making it easier for community members to support this cause. This initiative is a testament to the power of local businesses and community members coming together to make significant, positive changes in the lives of young individuals.
