Quincy's Commitment to Safety: New Fire Engines and Tiller Truck on the Way

In a significant move aimed at bolstering public safety, the City Council recently gave the green light for the purchase of two new fire engines and a state-of-the-art Tiller Truck. These new additions will replace Engine 1 on Quincy Avenue and Engine 4 in Wollaston, as well as Ladder 1 on Quincy Avenue, respectively. This decision marks a pivotal moment in the city's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents, reflecting the importance of having modern and efficient emergency response equipment at the ready.

Cronin's is gearing up for a spectacular St. Patrick's Weekend celebration, spanning three days from March 15th to 17th, 2024. This event promises a blend of traditional Irish festivities, music, and culinary delights that are sure to enthrall both regular patrons and newcomers alike. The lineup for the weekend is as vibrant as it is diverse, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Kicking off the festivities, DJ Mark McGillicuddy will set the tone with his tunes on Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight, returning for more on Sunday, both day and night. The musical revelry continues on Saturday with DJ Rob Stewart and DJ Bob O'Sweetland, who are ready to keep the energy high with their sets throughout the day and into the night. Adding a touch of traditional Irish music to the mix, Bagpiper Isabelle Hogan will perform on Saturday at 7 p.m. and again on Sunday at 4 p.m., filling the air with the soul-stirring sounds of the bagpipes.

A unique and beloved feature of the weekend will be Pete the Connemara Pony, making a special appearance on Sunday at 3 p.m. This promises to be a delightful attraction for visitors of all ages.

No St. Patrick's celebration would be complete without a feast of Irish favorites, and Cronin's delivers with a menu featuring Guinness Beef Stew, Red Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner and Sandwiches, Roast Turkey Dinner and Turkey Sandwiches, and the much-loved Mrs. Cronin's Irish Bread among other delectable offerings.

Guests can also look forward to enjoying their meals and beverages outdoors, as the patio will be open, weather permitting, providing a perfect setting for soaking up the festive atmosphere.
